If you are a business owner/manager that operates within the service industry space, this article is to remind you of your obligations to your employees regarding upcoming public holidays.
So, with Easter fast approaching, you may have a calendar that looks like this:

Your check list to ensure that you are paying the correct amount on each of these public holidays:
- Keep a record of employee hours worked
- Apply the correct Award rates for that position and industry
- Understand where the employee sits within the award
- Include additional penalty rates
Therefore if your business is open during these days, don’t forget to apply Public Holiday rates on:
