Tuesday 24th December 2019 – Christmas Eve
South Australia and Northern Territory have a part-day public holiday for Christmas Eve from 7.00pm to 12.00 midnight.
From 2019, Queensland has a part-day public holiday for Christmas Eve from 6.00pm to midnight.
Wednesday 25th December 2019 – Christmas Day
Christmas Day is a public holiday in all states of Australia
Thursday 26th December 2019 – Boxing Day
Boxing Day is a public holiday in all states of Australia. In South Australia this public holiday may be known as Proclamation Day.
Tuesday 31st December 2019 – New Year’s Eve
South Australia and Northern Territory have a part-day public holiday for New Year’s Eve from 7.00pm to 12.00 midnight.
Wednesday 1st January 2020 – New Year’s Day
New Year’s Day is a public holiday for all states of Australia
Wednesday 8th January 2020 – Devonport Cup
The Devonport cup day is a local holiday for the municipal area of Devonport, Tasmania. It is not a full public holiday, but rather a local public service holiday as well as for those whose Awards and employer agreements allow.
Monday 27th January 2020 – Australia Day
Australia Day is a public holiday for all states of Australia
