Random Pay Audits

Random Pay Audits

The Fair Work Ombudsman conducted a random audit into childcare centres on NSW Coast and found  five out of six to be underpaying their staff.

In total 32 staff across five centres had been underpaid a total of almost $10 000.The reasons for underpayment included underpayment of weekend penalty rates, record keeping errors and pay slip errors.

Comment/Lessons to learn: Fair Work Ombudsman doesn’t need a complaint to enter your workplace and audit your payroll process. It is important to ensure you are 100% compliant all the time in case of a random visit.
