National Minimum Wage

The national minimum wage is currently $16.87 per hour or $640.90 per 38 hour week (before tax). Casual employees covered by the national minimum wage also get at least a 25 per cent casual loading.

For award and agreement free junior employees, the percentage scale in the Miscellaneous Award 2010 is applied to the national minimum wage.

Under 16 years of age  – 36.8%

At 16 years of age – 47.3%

At 17 years of age – 57.8%

At 18 years of age – 68.3%

At 19 years of age – 82.5%

At 20 years of age – 97.7%

At 21 years of age – 100%
